I speak French at a native level. It is my primary language followed by English. I also speak a little bit of Spanish and Portuguese. To be honest, I learned French, English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Does this make me a polyglot? In Canada, speaking French and English is considered part of the official languages. Adding Spanish makes a trilingual speaker more versatile. And I added Portuguese to this repertoire of languages. Can I speak them all fluently? Not really, as I have forgotten many important parts of these languages. However, I use English and French as teaching tools to influence my students.
Speaking French and English in Hong Kong has allowed me to be more proficient in both languages. It has also allowed me to connect better with my students, as I have a wider vocabulary to express myself.
For the past 10 years, I have shared my knowledge and helped develop practical vocabulary skills. Words are not just words; they represent progress in understanding the letters that come together to form sounds. From words, we create sentences and paragraphs that become stories, fables, poems, and much more.
Teaching how to speak and express oneself changes the perspective on writing. Having a diverse vocabulary allows you to express more than just a story; it takes you beyond the surface to ignite imagination and discover other worlds.

I have books in these two languages, and it also gives me more resources to develop a good vocabulary. Many students are reluctant to learn more, but all in all, a good percentage accept the challenge, and many speak French. Read less
